Mike is a worship leader / singer / songwriter who resides in Calgary, Alberta, Canada
with his wife Jennifer and their two high school aged children. Mike’s debut worship
CD “Together” was released in 2006, and his sophomore CD “To The World” released
in 2011.
Mike has been privileged to lead worship and play at events such as the CCCC National Convention, Promise Keepers, Willow Creek Arts Summit, and other conferences and retreats in addition to his weekly role leading worship at Bow Valley Christian Church for seven years. He has shared the stage with Jon Bauer, Jon Buller, Matt Brouwer, Colors & Tone, Luke Dowler, High Valley, Dan Macaulay, Chris Bray, Amanda Falk, Tim Milner, Dan Nel, Brad McGillvrey, Jacob Moon, Chris Janz, and a host of other Christian Artists. Mike recently transitioned from full-time church ministry to a government position which allows him the freedom to visit other churches on the weekends, sharing his songs, worship team workshops, and Compassion Canada presentations with a variety of congregations.
Mike is actively involved in the Gospel Music Association in Canada, having hosted and played at GMA Artist Showcases; and in 2010 he hosted the GMA Worship Night that launched Gospel Music Association week in Calgary.
Mike’s passion is writing sing-able, theologically sound worship songs for use in local churches. Several songs from both his CD projects are receiving radio airplay, and many of his songs are being used in congregations throughout North America and beyond.
Mike’s new project “To The World” was recorded with Leroy Harder and Dan Nel at Slyngshot Studios in Calgary. The 12 song CD contains songs co-written with Laurell, Jon Bauer, Brad Rempel, and Dan Nel, in addition to seven of Mike original songs, and a remake of a favourite hymn. The project features 20 great musicians from across Canada. Several songs from “To The World” have already been picked up by Christian Radio stations across Canada.
